Celebrating the life of William Joseph Murphy
Thank you for signing William Joseph Murphy's Guestbook
Words cannot express the way you felt in "Chipper's" presence.... He always seemed calm and in control. Never unhinged or disorganized. I can't imagine having a life that calm. Torrington had a way of making life more present. My uncle had Torrington in his heart and Soul no matter where he was in the world or in his life. Now that I'm older and wiser that "calm" that a man has stems from the partner he chooses. (As well as good friends). From the bottom of my heart I know what "Chipper" shared with Barbara was exceptional. I know he was taken care of his entire life between his mother, sisters and finally Barbara.
May he rest in peace and continue to watch over all of us.... Blessing us every day with "Torrington calm".
May Barbara find comfort in the future....
All our love and support
Caroline, John, James and Sean Hunt

Barbara I am sorry for your loss.
The picture of you I remember the most is you on your motorcycle and holding me as a baby. I remember the Christmas Eve you went out and brought Barbara a gift. Kathryn, Caroline and I teased you for doing it at the last minute and also because we new how special Barbara was to you. I remember how Nanny loved to cook you bacon and eggs when you went home. I wish I could walk in her kitchen again and see all of out favorite cereal boxes in the corner. I wish I could walk in the dining room and see all twelve us at the table. So many lives gone. So much time past.
You were very brave. May you rest in peace.

Our most heartfelt sympathy goes out to Barbara and family.
In SFS, at THS, and throughout his 72 years, "Murph" was "Murph". What better tribute can you pay to a man to say that he was forever consistent, always sporting that boyish grin, expressing his keen sense of humor with his subtle, but jockular put downs, and forever enjoying life and people. He was a true gentleman and a good friend. He will be missed, but not forgotten.
