Carol D. Lewis, age 79, of Bluffton, SC and formerly of West Grove, PA died Monday, April 17, 2017 at MUSC in Charleston, SC.
Mrs. Lewis was born on September 8, 1937 in Philadelphia, PA, the daughter of the late Ruth and Franklin Dickey. She attended Temple University in Ambler, PA where she studied Landscape Architecture. She worked for many years in floral design, sharing her art in the various cities she lived in. She was a founding member of the PA Keystone Group in Sun City and was a member of Bluffton United Methodist Church where she was active with the prayer group. She was an avid gardener, loved nature and animals, and was an avid tennis player.
Mrs. Lewis is survived by her loving husband of 59 years, Charlie Lewis; daughters, Lee Anne Dougherty (Donald) and Beth Brown (Keith); son, Jack Lewis (Melissa); brother, John Dickey (Joyce); grandchildren, Charles (Nicole), Corrine, Christopher (Stephanie), Jason (Amanda), Lindsey, Chelsea, Dakoda, and Madison; and great-grandchildren, Mia, Liv, Donovan, and CJ.
A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, April 29, 2017 at Bluffton United Methodist Church, 101 Calhoun Street, Bluffton, SC 29910 followed by a gathering in fellowship hall.
In lieu of flowers, remembrances may be made to Bluffton United Methodist Church, P.O. Box 368, Bluffton, SC 29910.
