Randolph K. Cannon



On Friday, July 27, 2018, Randolph K. Cannon passed away to be with his Heavenly Father and loved ones who passed before him.
Randolph was born in Jasper County on June 22, 1934 to John Murray Cannon and Laurel Estelle Walls. He lived all his life in Hardeeville, growing up in Purrysburg on the Savannah River. Here is where he gained the love for fishing and hunting. Randolph served in the Army as an MP Special Forces where he guarded a nuclear bomb during the Korean war. He was station at Kaleen, Texas for a few years before being honorably discharged and continued his service in the Army Reserves. Randolph also enjoyed playing golf and flying radio-controlled airplanes.
He worked for American Can Company for a number of years, until purchasing a filling station in 1966.He then sold the stationed in 1977 and went to work at Gulf Stream until he retired.
Randolph is survived by his wife of 62 years, Jane Malphrus and daughter, Cathie Cannon Boulware. His son, Randolph (Randy) Wayne Cannon preceded him in death. He has three grandchildren, Brent Richard and Brandon Monteith Cooler and Rachel Cannon. He has two great grands, Bryce Monteith Cooler (9) and Brogen Cannon (1). Randolph was preceded in death by his brother, Murray Adolph Cannon.
Funeral services will be held on Monday, July 30, 2018 at 11:00 am at First Baptist Church of Hardeeville with burial at Purrysburg Cemetery. The family invites you to join them at 10:00 am until the hour of service.
