Dear family. Death is an enemy! So says the Word of God. True comfort comes in knowing that God does not cause our death, for He promises to eliminate death completely in the near future. I hope this gives you a measure of comfort during this difficult times. (1 Corinthians 15:26; Isaiah 25:8).

As I sit here trying to think of those all-too-used bereavement platitudes, all that comes to mind is Don's smiling face, his laughter, his wonderful ability to make people smile right along with him. I also think of his wife, Melissa.....where I saw one, the other was not far away. I think of the pictures I've seen on FaceBook of all the loves in his life....his family, his boat, his hunting gear, and all of the wonderful kitties he was a part of rescuing. Because of Don and Melissa, my initials and Chuck's are linked together in black marker on a 2 x 4 with a small can of cat food sitting underneath them within the walls of our home. Whenever I think of D, these are the things I will remember. Melissa, my heart aches for your loss, and that of your family. Much love. EB
