Helen Julia Newadomski



Helen Julia (Mraovic) Newadomski, age 98, of Bluffton, SC and formerly of Midland/Industry, PA passed away peacefully on Tuesday 3:30 am June 19, 2018 with her daughter, Karin Morrow and granddaughter, Julie Rae Kohar by her side.
Mrs. Newadomski was born on February 13, 1920 in Cleveland, OH, the daughter of the late, George and Julia (Lukacevic) Mraovic. Helen was married to her beloved husband of 59 years, Alexander Newadomski before he passed on November 12, 2006.
She was of Roman Catholic faith and a most recent member of Saint Gregory the Great Catholic Church, Bluffton and a former faithful member of St. Blaise Catholic Church, Midland, PA where she was involved in the Christian Mothers and known as “the Cookie Lady” for the vacation Bible School children. She was a beautician and owned her own salon “Helen’s Beauty Shoppe” in her home.
Beside her daughter, Karin and granddaughter Julie Rae, she is survived by her beloved son in law Charles Morrow, Bluffton, SC and grandson in law Richard Kohar Jr., Okatie, SC who both have given her many years of love and caring. They truly were her “son” and “grandson”.
She is also survived by her godson Samuel Rudman of Tega Cay, SC; step grandchildren Kelly (Joe) Trevizo, TX, Shawn (Stacia) Morrow, PA, Brent (Ashley) Morrow, NC; 7 great grandchildren and 1 great great grandson; sister in laws, Nellie Maverick, Avon, OH, Ethel Drake, Beaver, PA; many loved cousins, nieces and nephews and a special niece and nephew, Mary Grace and Joe Moriarty, Savannah, GA who through their many visits brought love and music these last two years and a very special friend and “second daughter” Linda Church, Darlington, PA who brought love, laughter and tears through the years with their sharing of stories of life and family.
In addition to her parents and husband Alex, she was preceded in death by her brothers, Raymond Mraovic, Cleveland, OH, Bernard Mraovic, Midland, PA and George Maverick, Avon, OH. Also a nephew George Maverick, Avon, OH and her former son in law, Mario Ulizio, Monaca, PA.
Throughout her entire life, Helen knew and practiced one thing best – to give of her whole heart, to her family and friends through her deeds and prayers. She was the first to help and asked nothing in return.
A funeral mass will be celebrated at 10:30 am, Friday, June 22, 2018 at St. Andrews Chapel, 220 Pinckney Colony Road, Bluffton, SC 29910. The family will be receiving friends one hour prior to mass.
A private burial will take place at Lowcountry Memorial Gardens, Bluffton, SC
