Lorraine Lee Ward



Lorraine Lee Ward was born on August 15, 1960 in Little Rock, Arkansas, and passed away on May 25, 2018 in Bluffton, SC surrounded by her family and friends. She fought cancer for many years and was a 10 year survivor. She had such strength, courage, and beauty through it all and her light within shown brighter even as her illness weakened her body. She was an inspiration to all of us. Her unbelievable story, legacy and light will live on and continue to impact people well beyond what she thought. We will miss her dearly but are at peace knowing she is fully healed and now with her Savior Jesus.

Lori was a 4-K preschool teacher for 15 years and had a gift with children. She was a part of the Children’s Ministry at her church. She loved to travel with her husband Doug, loved the ocean, and loved welcoming people into her home. What she treasured most was her relationships with her family and friends and her deep committed relationship to the Lord.

She is survived by her husband of 37 years, Doug Ward; Son, Matthew Ward; Daughter Jennifer Snyder; Parents, Ray and Carolyn Ward; Brother, Dan Ward; Two Sisters, Dana Combs, Allison VanDillen, and Sister-in-law, Barbara Ward; Three Grandchildren, James Snyder, Stella Snyder, and Olivia Ward.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held Tuesday, May, 29th at Sauls Funeral Home of Bluffton, 90 Simmonsville Road Bluffton, SC 29910. The Visitation will be from 2-3pm and the Funeral Service 3-4pm with a burial to follow. A reception will follow at 5:30 pm at Red Dam Baptist Church, 488 Red Dam Church Road, Hardeeville, SC 29927.
