Kim Shine Hubbard



Kim Shine Hubbard, age 62, of Bluffton, SC and formerly of Jacksonville Beaches, FL died Monday, May 14th, 2018, in the late evening.

Mrs. Hubbard was born on July 18, 1955 in Miami, FL, the daughter of William and Donnie Shine. She began her formal education at the University of Florida and ultimately earned her bachelor’s degree in nursing from Jacksonville University. She began her career in nursing at the Baptist Medical Center in Jacksonville and upon relocating to Bluffton continued to practice at Hilton Head Hospital, where she eventually became the manager of the Cardiac Catheterization Laboratory. Kim had a smile that brightened the world around her. She possessed a love for life, an appreciation for nature and a passion for all animals, especially horses and dogs. She was an accomplished equestrian rider, active with both the Rose Hill and Rose Dhu Equestrian Centers.

Mrs. Hubbard is survived by her loving husband of 20 years, David Hubbard; children, Matthew Sayles (Kathleen), Kelley Hutchings (Steven), Elizabeth Hubbard (Christopher), and Matthew Hubbard (Erin); brother, William R. “Trip” Shine, III (Kathleen); grandchildren, Zackery and Emma Sayles, Daniel, Jacob, Nathan, Alex, Anna, Rachel, Stephanie, Katie Beth, and Caleb Hutchings, as well as Ashton Butler and Rylin Hubbard.

A funeral service will be held at 5:00 p.m., Saturday, May 19, 2018 at Sauls Funeral Home, 90 Simmonsville Road, Bluffton, SC 29910. The family will be receiving friends one hour prior to the service.
