When we first moved to Sun City, Dave and Joan were the first people we met at the pool. They were so gracious and lovey people. Bill and Dave hit if off right away as Bill had a great deal of medical treatment at The University of Pittsburgh Hospital. We were so sorry to learn of Dave's passing today at Mass. May God pour out His blessings upon you Joan and receive Dave with open arms. Grace McAdams

David J. Torpey,Jr was my mentor, teacher, colleague, role model, and sounding board during my academic career at Pitt. He and Joan were quite gracious to Sandy and me when I was a resident and even took us to dinner! He was an outstanding teacher, clinician, educator, administrator and friend. We offer our condolences to the family
