Charles P. Kovar



Charles P. Kovar, age 94, of Bluffton, SC and formerly of Montgomery, NY died Friday, December 1, 2017 at Bloom of Bluffton.

Mr. Kovar was born on September 25, 1923 in Skaneateles, NY, the son of the late Paul and Anna Kovar. He was a veteran of the United States Air Force, serving during World War II. He was missing in action for six months, ultimately escaping to Italy. Following his military tenure he studied at Rider University where he earned a degree in business administration. He worked for many years with Central Hudson Gas & Electric, retiring as a Corporate Secretary. While living in Montgomery he served as President of the school board, served on the water board, and was very active in the First Presbyterian Church. Outside of work and civic involvement he enjoyed woodworking and hiking.

Mr. Kovar was preceded in death by his son, William “Bill” Kovar. He is survived by his loving wife of 72 years, Mary Locke Kovar; daughter, Ann Morgan (Charles); brother, Richard Kovar; grandchildren, Christine Morgan, Joshua Morgan (Paola), Seth Kovar (Marisa), and Ryan Kovar (Amanda); and great-grandchildren, Darcy Waskiewicz, Devon Waskiewicz, and Daniela Morgan.

Sauls Funeral Home of Bluffton is assisting the family with a private funeral service.
