Nathan Bonnie Bryan



Nathan Bonnie Bryan, 99 of Levy, SC passed away on November 22, 2017 at the Ridgeland Nursing Center, Ridgeland, SC.
Bonnie was born in Hardeeville, SC on December 7, 1917 to the late Calvin Lee Bryan and Mary Elizabeth O’Quinn Bryan.
Bonnie was a law enforcement officer for 30 years serving the Savannah Police Department, Town of Ridgeland, Jasper County Deputy Sheriff; Colleton County Deputy Sheriff; former Chief of Police in Estill, SC; formerly with Sea Pines Corporation; Moss Creek and Rose Hill. He was a member of Maye River Baptist Church; veteran of the US Army; a Mason and member of the Ancient Mystic Order of the Rose Croix.
He is survived by his former wife, Willie Mae Bryan of Ridgeland; sons, Jimmy Bryan (Suzanne) of Charleston, SC and Calvin Bryan (Pat) of Ridgeland; daughters, Rhonda Tanner and Deborah DeLong (Richard) of Ridgeland, Barbara Young of Mt Pleasant, SC and Bonnie Griffin of Hardeeville; sister, Tillie Fender of Hardeeville; grandchildren, Jeffrey Bryan, Jared Bryan, Kelly Chapman, Legare Horry, Melissa Arcuri, Anthony Arcuri, Alayna DeLong, Mark DeLong, Alisha Vernacchio, Patricia Young and Matthew Tanner and several great grandchildren. He was predeceased by his son, Donnie Bryan; his brothers, Calvin, Leon, George, Dan, Jennings, Burl, Melvin, Ben, Richard and David; his sisters, Minnie Cooper, Corrine Lynes, Dora Hubbard, Albertha Bryan and Savannah Mae Bryan.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 pm, Saturday, November 25, 2017 at Sauls Funeral Home, 310 W. Adams St., Ridgeland with burial in St. Lukes United Methodist Church Cemetery, Bluffton. The family will receive friends beginning at noon until the hour of the service at the funeral home.
