Bennett Earl Melton was called home November 3rd, 2017 to be with the LORD JESUS, free of pain and worry forevermore, safe in HIS arms for eternity.
Bennett leaves behind his son Tyler Alan Adkins of Hilton Head SC, sister Debra Snow Kelley (Jack) of Bluffton SC, nephew Ramsey Kelley of Bluffton SC, uncle John W. (Junior) Tyson (Ruth) of Dublin GA, aunts Betty Jean Durden of Dublin GA and Theresa Wigley of Hamilton OH along with many loved cousins, in laws and out laws. He was preceded in death by his father William Earl Melton, his mother Dora Mae Melton, paternal grandparents Bennett P. & Stella Mae Melton, maternal grandparents John W. & Fannie Mae Tyson.
He had a special heart for his family and friends, always ready to reach out and help others, he is loved by many whether they knew him years or only days. He enjoyed the outdoors and there he said "I talked to GOD where I was in nature's church". Bennett has been described as a modern day "Mad Max", he could fix just about anything and make something out of nothing!
He excelled at hunting & fishing, tinkering was his hobby and often a moneymaker. Often a flirt with the ladies, he instilled laughter and wild ideas from his many friends.
Beloved son, father, lover, brother, nephew, uncle, cousin, friend...he wore many hats and filled some big shoes when needed. From Dublin GA to Hilton Head SC we miss him already, his memories fill our hearts with joy.
Celebration of Life services will be held November 26th in Bluffton SC at New Life Church at 3:00 pm and December 30th in Dublin Ga at the Laurens County Sportsman's Club at 3:00 pm.
