She was a proud graduate of DePauw University maintaining close ties with the university and Kappa Kappa Gamma sorority her entire life.
She married the love of her life, Tom, also a West Point graduate and they crisscrossed the US with 4 children in tow. Assignments included tours of West Point, Hawaii, Fort Campbell, Kentucky and the Pentagon. Following 25 years as an Army wife, they moved to Macon, Georgia. Deep relationships with wonderful friends and neighbors were formed. They retired to Hilton Head Island where they lived out a wonderful life of over 65 years together.
Devoted to her faith, Nina was named South Carolina Catholic Woman of the Year in 2008. She served as teacher and religious education coordinator planning innumerable children's liturgies. She instructed classes on First Communion and the Sacrament of Confirmation. She was a member of the Parish Councils of St. Joseph’s Catholic Church (Macon, Ga), Holy Family Catholic Church (Hilton Head Island) and St. Francis by the Sea Catholic Church (Hilton Head Island). Nina was a member of the Building Committee at St. Francis proudly wearing her hard hat to the construction site. For years, she served as a Eucharistic Minister bringing Holy Communion and praying with the homebound.
Happiest when surrounded by family and friends, she loved to entertain and always looked glamourous in her pearls. Nina swam in the ocean from April until October.
