Margaret Nell Nettles

Margaret Nell Nettles, wife of J. Henry Nettles, passed away on March 21, 2024 at her home.

Margaret was born on September 16, 1942 in Houston, TX to the late Hubert C. Crook and Willie Ethel Selman Crook.  Margaret was a Sales Associate for Western Auto of Hilton Head for many years. 

Margaret was known and called “Mamo” by all that knew her. Margaret enjoyed life to the fullest. She loved to sit by the water with her feet in it. Margaret had a love for being outside, working in the yard, and planting flowers. Margaret was someone you could always call in time of need. She would be there to lend a helping hand. Margaret was a care giver to her late in-laws, Warren and Ruby Nettles.

Margaret is survived by her husband of 62 years, J. Henry Nettles. Margaret also leaves behind two sons, Joseph (Joey) Henry Nettles II, and Charles (Chucky) Nettles (Sherri), both of Ridgeland, SC. Margaret also leaves behind two grandsons, Joseph (Joe Joe) Nettles (Christina) and Jacob Nettles (Ciara Chapman). She leaves one great-granddaughter, Briana Nettles.

Margaret was preceded in death by her parents, one sister, Margie Angler, three brothers, Jack, Rollin, and Selman Crook all of Wichita Falls, TX.

The family would like to give a special “Thank You” to Christina Nettles for helping care for Margaret. Another thank you to Beaufort Memorial Hospital, The Hospice Care Team, and the Ridgeland Nursing Home for taking good care of Margaret while she was in their care.

A Celebration of Life will be held at 4:30 pm on Saturday, March 30, 2024 at Gillisonville Baptist Church.
