Beatrice Ferraro, age 87, cherished wife, beloved mother, and faithful Catholic passed on March 19, 2024, at hospice care.
Beatrice was born in Manhattan, New York on October 31, 1936, to the late Angelo and Gilda Volpe (nee Carrillo).
She graduated from Julia Richman High School. She met her future husband, Joseph Ferraro, at a sweet sixteen party. They were married on November 4, 1956, at St. Anthony’s Catholic Church, Bronx, NY.
Beatrice was the mother of two children: Dr. Francis Ferraro (Linda) of Tampa, FL and Joseph Ferraro of Bluffton, SC.
While raising her sons, Beatrice volunteered at St. Augustine's Parish in New City, NY as a Teacher’s Assistant and Assistant Librarian.
When both boys were in college, she worked in banking as a teller.
While in New City, Beatrice was the President of a Senior Club, helping over 200 members. Since moving to Bluffton in 2004, she was a member of the Red Hats Club and Mahjongg Club. She also volunteered to help with children from less fortunate families to celebrate Christmas.
Her life will be celebrated at a Funeral Mass at St. Gregory the Great Catholic Church in Bluffton, SC on April 2nd, 2024 at 10:30am.
